Mentees' Testimonials
'It has been almost a year since joining Hong Kong's Got ESG Talent Mentoring Program, organized by the Sustainable Finance Working Group of the The European Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong! Having Johannes Hack as our mentor has been an incredible experience, we had several perspective-breaking "debates". Topics on different sustainability concepts, how they interact and correlate with each other in the economy, theoretical to reality. Michael S. and I also had the opportunity to visit Johannes' workplace and chat with colleagues from different departments to gain a deeper understanding of the real finance world. As well as participating in the annual flagship event by the Chamber, The Greenway 2024: The Dialogue, where EU industry leaders shared their current carbon reduction practices and regulatory suggestions to HKSAR.
We highly appreciate the valuable experiences provided through the program and Johannes!
Special thanks to Professor Eyub Yegen for introducing this program to me in class!'

'The ESG mentorship program hosted by the European Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong has provided me with valuable insights into the sustainable finance and global markets industry. From the get-go, the Chamber had done a fantastic job in pairing up mentors with mentees, and I was grateful to have been paired up with a mentor that shared the same passion and technical background.

Learning from my mentor's deep knowledge and practical insights through periodic meetings, I developed a more robust understanding of how ESG factors can be integrated into financial products, along with the value that it brings to corporate clients looking for innovative financing and investment solutions.

A notable highlight in the program was the opportunity to visit the Société Générale office, wherein mentors from cross-departments introduced their respective work, and how it contributed to the broader function of sustainable finance. This visit sparked an open dialogue between all mentees and mentors, and left me with a lasting appreciation for the innovative work being undertaken.

Overall, the program was thoughtfully structured in a way that seamlessly blended discussions about climate and the mobilisation of capital and corporates. I am thankful for the work that the Chamber has done to pioneer this unique mentorship program, and would recommend future mentees to grab this opportunity to understand the role that sustainable finance plays in our shared sustainability journey.'
